WebJun 28, 2024 · A simple example of ordered semigroup with zero is $S = \{a, b, 0\}$with $a^2 = a$, $b^2 = b$and $ab = ba = 0$, ordered by $a < 0 < b$. Now, I don't see any problem with the definition of an ordered semigroup, with or without zero. It is a perfectly sound definition and it works very well in practice.
